VOLUNTEER
Join our
team and enjoy being part of an interactive group of
hard-working, dedicated individuals who know they
are making a difference for women and families in
the community. You can train to become a
certified Crisis Line Counselor through an 80-hour
crisis intervention and advocacy training course.
The comprehensive training teaches crisis
intervention techniques, psychological, social, and
legal information, as well as community resources
referrals available to victims.
In addition, other volunteer opportunities are
available for individuals and for businesses,
including:
- Assisting staff in providing child care for 5-15
children ages 0-15 one day per week from 4:00 to
5:30 pm at the Women's Center.
- Assisting staff and other
volunteers in conducting minor renovations and
repairs at the business offices.
- Conducting a food drive or other fundraising event
to garner community donations of cash, clothing,
food, etc., to assist our clients in times of
emergency.
As a
volunteer, you will:
- Provide assistance and
support to staff and other volunteers to promote
awareness and education in the community about
domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.
- Assist staff with donations, fundraisers, and
promotional efforts that help support and maintain
our programs and services.
- Enjoy the special
feeling of knowing you are helping women and
families in critical need and that your
participation is rewarded by seeing them achieve
their goals and truly succeed.
- Work with a
compassionate, hard-working, dedicated group of
staff and volunteers who have made a difference in
the community for 30 years.
If you can volunteer your time to help others,
please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at

ANNUAL
GIFTS AND CASH CONTRIBUTIONS
The Women's
Center operates our programs and services with a mix
of funding from government and private sources. Your
gift to the Annual Fund will
subsidize basic operational expenses for the Women's
Center, such as insurance, rent, salaries, taxes,
depreciation, and other costs that are not covered
under the highly restrictive state and federal
grants we receive.
The Annual Fund
is “unrestricted” funding for the Women's Center,
which is critical not only to offset the center's
basic costs to operate, but also to ensure our
long-term financial health and stability.
Please support the Women's Center through a donation
to the Annual Fund today.
MEMBERSHIP
Funds from Membership
donations help provide intervention and treatment
services, such as counseling or support groups for
survivors. Membership funds also help meet clients’
basic needs in life — food, shelter and clothing.
Membership funds help purchase items for the
emergency shelter, such as cleaning supplies and
food.
Membership funds are critical to the
agency’s ability to assist women and children who
come through our doors with their specific,
individual needs. Your Membership donation
will help provide clients with some of life’s
necessities that most of us take for granted —
things like a new backpack stocked with school
supplies, baby formula, diapers, or winter boots and
jackets.
Join us today in the effort to end
violence in our community with your tax-deductible
Membership contribution of $25.00 or more.
BUILDING FUND
We need your support to ensure that the Women’s
Center has a permanent place in our community.
That's why the Women's Center is seeking funds in
order to pay off our building, which is absolutely
critical for the long-term financial health and
stability of the center. Without the financial
burden of paying for the office building, we can
focus on what is really important - the people who
reach out to us for help. Please,
help
us by giving directly to the Building Fund, pledging
multi-year gifts, donating stock, or through estate
planning.
See our
Building Fund brochure
for more information.
PLANNED GIFTS
Through donations made today and
through gifts planned for the future, the Women's
Center’s programs and services are made possible by
the support of committed community members.
Planned gifts are critical to the continued success
of the agency, as they provide funds for our
long-term projects and goals.
Family obligations and the need to provide for
retirement, coupled with the high cost of living,
can make it difficult for many people to make a
charitable gift. But there is a way to have
the satisfaction of making a meaningful, lifetime
gift without making sacrifices today. In fact,
planning ahead to give in the future can have tax
advantages right now. See our
Planned Giving brochure
for more information.
